Years ago my cousin moved from here in KY to WV in order to keep his mining job. Not long after settling in he learned of a local custom knife maker by the name of Scotty White and soon paid Mr White a visit. The next trip back home my cousin brought several of Mr White's knives with him which Mr White had let him bring for my father and I to examine. I didn't know it at the time but my father bought one of the knives my cousin had brought with him for me as a Christmas present. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has ever heard of this maker or can give me any information about him. To my understanding Mr White has since passed away. Here are a few pics of my knife. Please excuse the photo quality. (crappy camera)

I'm starting to think my cousin and I are the only two that have White knives!

you could be right. not a name that I'm familiar with and so far no one else is either. I looked in Knives '81 and found no mention but if you have some date info, maybe further research might find something.

You might also check out the Knife Related section in BF and look for the Bernard Levine forum and post there as he would be an expert to check with.

Hi VWB,

I received one on consignment a few weeks ago. Very nice work.

If you find him let me know. I'd like to get some more of his knives.
