I`m considering dropping the Scout Jr. from my line and replacing it with the Compact Combat / Survival. Let`s hear your opinions, and vote for the one you like best.

Scout Jr.: 9 1/2" oal, 4 3/4" blade, 3/16" thick

Compact Combat / Survival: 8" oal, 4" blade, 3/16" thick

I voted for the Scout Jr., but that is really only because I have one. I think the CCS would be a fine replacement. It gets your hand a little closer to the blade which I always like. I think it would look good with some blue liners and the blue/black G10.

Survival all the way. If I wasn't so filled up with knives, or had more dang money, one in Ironwood would be mine.

I vote for the Scout Jr, because I have one also. However the combat is good looking. Can't go wrong on either.

I like the guard of the survival better....but will you offer the full convex blade? I would prefer that.

Compact Combat/Survival. I was thinking about an Urban Hawk order no more than a week ago and thinking that I'd love to match it with a broad 4" drop point design with a bit thicker stock. Your mind reading is much appreciated. :D

I went with the CC/S.I never liked the looks of the long square guard on the scout.
Plus the CC/S is cheaper.
What can I say,I'm a tight wad. :o

I like the Compact and it's slightly smaller size.
I like a more rounded butt on knives and women...just saying.

Keep them both and see if one fades from the list of orders over time. They are both nice designs. I must say that I am not really a fan of the square guard thingy on the Scout either but I do like it overall.

I`m seeing a pattern forming. Since I posted the Compact Combat / Survival yesterday, I`ve received two orders for it, one in orange G10, and one in ironwood.

I really like the looks of the CCS, but I prefer longer handles, sooo...

They are both different knives for different uses. If I would pick one it would be the Combat / Survival. If I wanted the style of the Scout I would probably pick the Phoenix instead or the EDC Kephart for a shorter blade. So I'll vote for the
Combat / Survival. This is just my inexperience opinion.

As I told John yesterday, I'll be one of the lucky ones who will be getting a tax refund this year and part of it was going towards a new knife from him. I was tossed up between the Kephart and the Scout Jr but when I saw the CC/S that did it for me. I was on it like white on rice!
Since Noah of Wasteland Leather did such an outstanding job on a sheath for my Kentucky Woodsman, I asked him to make the sheath for this one also when he gets back into town. I'll be sure to post pictures when it is completed.

Good news, you certainly got good knife there, happy tax refund season to all! I paid off my credit card, ;)

I'd like to see another Noah sheath I've seen a lot of nice pictures but it'd be nice to see new ones.
