No, not the 73 Scout, a true Scout knife from Great Eastern. Like a boy scout knife. Any chance you think? I'd like to see it. Oh boy, you'd need a pair of pliers to get the can opener out? Naw, they've gotten better recently about the tough pulls.

Can you imagine a Northfield scout knife though? Wow, something about the size of a Remington R4? Jigged bone like my old Primble? Long nail nick. Nice bail.

:D

Big time. This would be a constant companion. I'm with you on the bail. Make it stainless so that can opener and cap lifter don't end up rusty. Whoa :thumbup:

This is something I have been wanting for years.
Hopefully soon, I couldn't get it out of Bill on wether or not we'd see one soon, but I get the feeling we'll see one.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I love campers. But my worry would be that GEC would just do a replica of some thing a 30s vintage New York Cutlery or Ulster.

I'm sure such a knife would sell among GEC collectors and in this light, that's a fine thing.

But IMO, the American Camper got stuck in the past, while Victorinox and Wegner both modernized and updated their tool selection. I would NOT spend GEC prices for a GEC version of my Ulster Camper. I could buy half a dozen old Ulsters for that price and would have the real thing still have enough for a cold beer to use the cap lifter on. (the cap lifter on Ulsters work, btw)

I would pay money for a GEC with jigged bone scales and modernized selection of tools.

My pick would replace the awl with folding scissors and the can opener with a file/2-prong Phillips head driver.

What I don't want is a show piece that would still require me to carry a Leatherman Micra in my LFP as a backup.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

:D We are friends for sure.

I like the long flathead/ cap lifter, and the long nail pull like the Boker camp/scout had. The can opener, and the pen blade were not the best in my opinion.

That would be great... I´d also order one immediately. I hope sometimes, we´ll see such a knife/tool.

Kind regards
Andi

Hell yeah, I'd buy one. For me, I'd prefer old style stuff. Victorinox makes a fine knife, but I certainly don't want to see a flashlight, pen or USB flash drive on my GEC. Old school.

If GEC makes a Scout knife I'll be one of the first in line, and probably go for multiple handle types, wood, bone, horn, acrylic and if they make them, 440C versions too.

Plus I'd get one each for my sons and my wife, heck I might even get one for our Troop Committee Chair and Assistant Scoutmasters too...my poor bank account :D

And they have to have a bail!
