I was just in the traditional section and was checking out the thread titled "Scout Pattern". Very cool pattern, very neat knives. I was just wondering if Buck ever made any of those?

Volt, Yes, Buck has made numerous Scout knives over the years, some special and others in the scout patterns . Many guys here own and collect them perhaps they will show them off to us . As I enjoy them too . Currently I don't own any . DM

Dave, do you mean the Wenger made "SwissBuck" series?

Or some other Buck made "Scout" pattern?

Yes, those but Buck's made others . They still make their 500 to commerate the Eagel Scout badge and there are others I've seen . I4Bucks has some . DM

I don't recall ever seeing a Buck 'scout' pattern knife. There's been knives dedicated to and bearing the scout logo. But real scout patterns as in spear blade with screwdriver/caplifter blade, can opener blade, and awl, I don't think so. Case, Camillus, and Imperial with an Ultser here and there have been the real scout knives.

I wish Buck would make a real Boy scout pattern pocket knife. That would be very neat! especially if it had brown jigged delrin scales with the "Be prepared" molded into it like my old Camillus.

I wouldn't consider the Wenger Swiss Bucks as Scout knives, they're SAKs. The only knife I know Buck made that was designated as the Scout, was the model 107; not really a Boy Scout/ Cub Scout knife.

I think we need to be careful here when using the term "scout knives" and "scout pattern".

Any knife with a scouting group logo on it is a "scout knife", but a "scout pattern", at leat to me, is a blade, awl (or small blade), can opener/screwdriver, bottle opener..etc..."type" of pocketknife.

Buck has made "scout knives", but not a "scout pattern".

Scott, Is that the 107 BCCI offered ? DM

DM, yes it is.

BCCL, I think you've hit the nail on the head

My apologies, my question is towards a particular pattern, not a knife commemorating the scouts. As Jackknife and Bear Claw said, I was wondering if Buck had ever made THE scout knife patter consisting of the main spear blade, awl, screwdriver bottle opener, and can opener. The only scout patterns I have are the Camillus all steel scout knife, and the Wenger SI, which IS a scout knife, since it is a "pattern" I am after and not a knife labeled "Boyscouts". I asked because I have seen pictures of all sorts of old Buck patterns, like the marlin spike sheepsfoot sailor's knife that I didn't even know Buck made. Just figured I'd give it a shot.

Ok, Bear, I can say yes to that . I've seen many Buck's made with the scout's logo on the blade or shield on the slabs but not the pattern you state . DM

Scott, Thanks for posting the 107 photo . I considered ordering one of those as I like it .
But didn't only because I have a early 107 with the silver guard and antler slabs and 2 pins (I think) already in my collection . Still, that was a handsome offering . DM

I have to admit, that especially during the Camillus contract years, I have long wondered why Buck didn't have Camillus brand some scout patterns with "Buck" to see how they would sell.
