Happy Scout Sunday!

The boys and I are off to our sponsor organization's mass. A Scout is Reverent! And Prepared!

I carry this, tethered, two-blade hayin' helper to most Scout outings. It has proven to be the most beneficial-user combination that I've tried.

knifeswapper knifeswapper sells these knife fobs, that I customize and it keeps my knife secure.

If you are in Scouts-BSA, let's see your go-to knife. If you are not in Scouts, let's see your camping knife. If neither, let's see your goin' to church knife.

My two scouts, the old Ulster I've had for nearly 60 years which sits on my reloading bench and gets used regularly, and my new Evo Grip 14 that I carry every day.

I was a Scout back in the mid 1900's. The knives (and uniforms & accessories) I had back then are long gone. ☹️
These are the replacement Scout and "Demo" knives I've acquired over the years.
i usually have one on me or with-in close reach every day. Have had, since I was a youngling. A most practical and useful pattern. 😁View attachment 1736825

Me and my son at Camp Raven Knob, NW NC in summer 1993. He was enjoying working on merit badges and I was one of the troop leaders (Comm Chairman). I am wearing a Bucklite nylon sheath carrying this SAK Huntsman in it, same knife I carried from mid 1980’s to late 1990’s in the ARNG. Happy Boy Scout month - we always had our annual Scout banquet in mid-February when I was a Boy Scout - the Moose Lodge, our chartering organization, always fed us big time good! OH

Let's see your Bucklite! My dad carried one, he was an ASM. Then one day, after carrying the old Swiss army for a couple of years, he gifted me a Bucklite. My Dad has since gifted his to my Boy Scout (green) and my dad found a black version for my cubscout. We are bucklite-boy scout combo fans over here......

My scout knife as a Boy Scout was one of the brown Delrin handled Official BSA knives made by Ulster that were very common in the 1960’s, I no longer have it. I own a very early BuckLite, it may have been the first ScoutLite because it was a special issue for NOAC in 1983 and the Buck ScoutLIte wasn’t introduced until 1984 - but I never found any information on it when I tried to. I never carried a BuckLite while scouting or in the ARNG, I carried the heck out of the nylon sheath, but it always contained a DEMO knife or the SAK I showed above. OH

Outstanding information. The first "scoutlite" was an sfo for NOAC? I had no idea.
Yours in Brotherhood,

I was a Boy Scout for a short time in my early teens, but got distracted by other things in my life. I read the books a lot, though, and enjoyed the lore and knowledge, but lament the loss of the experiences!!
Official knives took all forms - here's a three-blade, by Remington!!Rem three blade 1.jpgRem three blade 2.jpg

Beautiful knife. They even made Scout sheath/fixed blades. I think maybe Western Cutlery made them. And BSA hatchets although I am not sure who made those.
