So I was reading a discussion about kiridashis the other day so sunday night while I was doing some heat treating, I grabbed a scrap piece of 52100 and started beating away. I beat it to shape and most of the bevel in, ht and then it sat overnight in vinegar to work on the scale. A few minutes on the grinder and some hand sanding to 1000 and here it is. Very sharp. Just over 5.5", 3/16" thick, with the edge being 1.25". It feels nice in the hand and turned out better than I expected.
