$6 for 3 lbs of leather remnants at Hobby Lobby, couple bucks for 4 ft. of 1/4 x 2 poplar, a bottle of poly glue, and a stick of green chrome at Lowe's...

the longest one is around 15 inches, might cut it in half.

cool part is that there were pieces of leather large enough for some pouch sheaths to boot.

My leather is from the scrap bin at Tandy.

The scrap leather strops work for me also.

I use mine unmounted just sitting on the work bench.

I'll have to take a look at Lowes for the green.

Nice job hardheart, you are indeed frugal. Those sticks at Lowe's work great and are pretty inexpensive.

to even out the CrO, I used a little liquid from hand american, and the gray strop is coated in 2.5 micron SiC paste from them. The two cards are 400/1200 eze-laps.

near the dremel stuff, iirc. it isn't by the grinding/buffing/sandpaper wall display at mine.

great thanks, i have purchased a strop bat from JRE, and like it very much, i want to try my hand at making a few of my own.
