So what do you do with a 3" scrap of 1095? Practice of course. I guess this can be used as a box opener :thumbup:. I was finally able to get a decent hamon.

Its always good to practice, helps you learn what works and what doesnt.


BTW, I noticed you are in Hazard, we are trying to get a group of east Ky makers together this spring if you are interested.

If you normalized, soaked and quenched properly, followed by a tempering cycle (or two) to your target hardness, it looks to me like you got yourself a nice little Kiridashi.:thumbup:
