Beauty. THis is where the resiprene went!

Rat Finkenstein did the scrapyard dog design and it looks great on the blade. Lookin' forward to Scrapyard debut.

rI snagged one of these at Blade and I have been using it off and on for different stuff. I have deliberately left it filthy just to see what would happen. I have wiped sweat and oil form my skin on it and left it in the sheath. Nothing after over a week. I used it the other day to help me dispatch a mulberry tree in a fence line. No evidence of anything from the sap I left on it yet. So far so good.

I inspected my blade today and have found discoloration in the blade, but not really any scaled rust. I imagine if I used it regular and it got discolored it would take on a very cool natural patina over time. Mind you in my book that is not a real downside. I thought I ought to post this though so someone didn't come along and say theirs rusted a bit and accused me of lying. I have no doubt that a wipe down with a tuff cloth or oiled rag would have avoided this, but I was out to make it rust, discolor or whatever it would do just for my own edification. I had the same thing happen with a satin finished Swamp Rat, so it is no big surprise. Care and maintenance goes a long way with either steel. A great knife no matter how you look at. it. The edge on these satin ones is a "zero" grind like those on the Zero Tolerance series Busses. Scary sharp.
