At this moment, the Scrap Yard has Scrapper 6, Scrapper hook (mojo) and scrapper guard (no mojo hook, nice recurve) ALL IN STOCK.

get em while they are hot...

I got in at 2032 and 2048, I have no idea where the second order came from it looks like a duplicate of my first. I guess I will call in the morning to figure it out.

Chuddybear, you can't call Scrapyard (there's no #; don't call Busse either), but you can always email Patti and she'll take care of it. She's on top of it all. She must have been trained by Amy, cuz she's got mad skills.

I was jumping all over those new models I forget to get a Scrapper 6.

The Scrap Yard Mojo is thick and heavy - You boys are gonna like this one! Hmmmmm.... Gonna have to get a sheath for this one. A definite user!

Can anybody tell me or point me to the specs on the Yard Guard?

Looks great, but how long is the blade? how thick?

Thanks. :D

OFFICIAL NOTICE

Dogs:

I will place the new Yard Hook and the Yard Guard up for sale tomorrow night, Thursday April 19, between 8:30 to 9:30 Central Time. Additionally, I will be posting the second run of Scrapper #6's at this time.

The Yard Hook features a 7” long blade of Scrap Yard SR 77 steel mated with a hand-filling, ergonomic Resiprene C handle. The Yard Hook is ready for heavy abuse in the harshest environment. The blade catch located in front of the integral thumb ramp provides an extra level of protection when the Yard Hook is deployed as a fighter. This wide body re-curved blade is equally effective in both a wilderness environment and a combat zone. The gentle re-curve of the primary edge has been proven throughout history to draw objects in towards the cutting edge.

The Yard Guard shares most of the features of its kissing cousin the Yard Hook. It does not feature a integral blade catch thus giving it a lower profile and making it less obtrusive for many camp side chores.

Specs for both knives:
Overall length - 12”
Blade length – 7”
Thickness – approximately .280 (1/4” – 5/16”)
Handle – Resiprene C
Steel – SR77
Price - $119.95

The Scrapper #6 sheath works for both of these knives. The Yard Hook rides a bit high (1/4 to 1/2) due to the catch (hook) riding on the liner of the sheath.

.28" thick? I can't help wondern' whether all the Scrapyard's are so thick to compensate for something? Laterally maybe? I first assumed they just wanted to have a hefty little user, but the almost absurdly thick Dumpster Mutt made me wonder: is there something they found during testing that this thickness can make up for? I'd ask this at the Pound but I was afraid I'd get circled up and destroyed for blasphemy.

My Guess is, they start with thicker stock.

It seems to be the same stock as my Crash Axes.

The Crash Rats weren't made of SR-77 were they? You just mean that they have thick stock on the Crash's, right? These thoughts didn't even occur to me until I got my absurdly thick little 5" Dumpster Mutt. I was like 'good golly' (actualy quote), what's this little guy doing with a near .28" blade thickness? I asked it 'are you trying to compensate for something?' but I couldn't get an answer out of it.

Hmmm, they are only selling to 'established' Busse customers for international orders :(, I only have 1 Busse from the production line, the CGFBM... I understand why they won't sell abroad as easily, as there are lowlifes who take advantage of great companies like this, and ruin it for others who are genuine lovers of quality products such as Scrap Yard knives....

Ho hum... I've emailed them to see whats possible... that scrapper 6 would make an excellent wedding Anniversary gift for my father... I fear that when they reply though they'll all be out of stock...

I might just need to order a whole bunch more INFI before getting any of that Scrap Yard loving across the water....
