scrap yard knives

they are excellent knives, i own both the SOD and the S5, both get tons of woods time. Brutally tough blades, easy to sharpen.

They are a part of the Busse family of knives. They are the "Scrap yard" knives because the "owner" (Jerry Busse's Brother) goes dumpster diving for the throw away scrap steel from the Swamp Rat and Busse Production areas. The steel in the knives can vary from INFI to S30V.

These knives are EXTREMELY hard users, and will handle the wet snowy conditions. I use mine up here in the Pacific North West, where it rains 300 days out of the year!

Can't go wrong with the Scrapyard, or any of the Busse family of knives!

awesome thank you so much! what model is a good one?

Whichever one you can get a hold of. Most of the knives must be bought on the secondary market. Figure out what you're looking for in a fixed blade and we can come up with some specific models that might fit the bill.

im looking for something i can use to hunt with and something i can occationaly take with me camping to do like all the chores around camp im thinking a for a blade to be from 6-7 inches umm i think thats it

;)

I have several SY models, I started about 3 years ago. One of my favorite, toughest,
user friendly blades I've had. Great warranty.

To get them from the company you have to wait until they release a new model,
you just missed one. Like stated here you can get them on the secondary market
(more expensive of course)

Good luck and let us know what you get ;)

how is the Scrapper 5?

Pure awesomeness. Some folks don't like the choil or the shape of the choil. Others like it. The ergos are supposed to be very good. The steel, whether the regular or the LE is going to be excellent.

I know that this has already been said but there knives incredibly tough and the price is good. I have a SOD LE and I chop with it every chance I get.

I managed to snag myself a Scrapper 5, it's sweet.
Although i be one of those people who say the choil is mildly uncomfortable.
