I sent knifemods.com a message and hopefully I'll get a message back saying they are interested in taking on this project, but I thought you guys would like to see it as well.

I'd like to take my 1311 and have a bowie tip put on it as well as make the belly more gradual. To finish it off, a full convex satin finish.
Basically a SY version of the Busse Silent Knight:D

I know it would take away from its chopping ability, but it would make one heck of a "fighter"
Here is a quick sketch, criticism welcome:thumbup:

I am sure nate will deliver a perfect job.
Is the spine going to be sharpened as well, or a continous penetrator tip?

Can't wait to see the final result:thumbup:

Because I live in California, I can't have a sharpened spine ..It is considered a "dagger"
I do think it would be cool if the spine had a "NM" type of rounded shape.

That's the exact shape I was hoping that the 1311 would be when it was announced. I would have liked to see a Regulator handle on that too, but it never came to be. I'm really interested in seeing how this turns out, if it does happen. Might force me into having the same mod done myself someday.....:)

And a penetrator tip, is that allowed?

I don't think the chopping ability will suffer much, as the zero convex edge is optimal.
And it will be molecule splitting sharp;)

+1 for nate here. He does an awesome job with sharpening and satin finishes. He's done maybe 5 to 6 of my busses

Good to hear so many people are pleased with their work! Are there multiple guys associated with knifemods, or is it just this Nick guy people are talking about?

No blade catch so TERRIBLE idea

Or it's the Lite version...

But it looks a hell of a lot like an anorexic MOAB, so nice job there, I like the bowie grind

:D

I'm not entirely sure but I think it's just nate. Be prepared for a month to month and half turn around time though. It's well worth it because he does such a great job. I'll post pics when I come home. His work is breath taking

I don't mind waiting, I'm on week 12 of waiting for the next batch of NMFSHs to ship out:D If his work is as good as everybody says, a couple months isn't bad at all. I don't know why I read his name as Nick ...sorry Nate!

That will look cool!! One important thing to consider before you commit to this is you may void the warranty if you have this mod done. You may want to double check with Busse before you proceed.

I will take ALL responsibility for the blade once it is modded. I would not expect SY to cover any damage done to a blade after heavy modification, nor would I want to abuse their awesome warranty.

FYI daggers are not illegal or a felony in California - google the law.

As far as I know they are still illegal. Why do you think most companies won't ship double edge knives to California? Please send me a link to your source. Why do you think Busse won't ship the AA to Ca? It isn't just the knuckle guard.
