Scrapivore or Swamp Warden

I have been looking for a small Busse-Kin that I could pocket or neck carry (depending on the attire) and/or have a nice piggy back to one of my many larger Busse Choppers designated for smaller tasks. I think I have settled on either the Scrapivore and/or Swamp Warden, and may honestly buy a couple, one of each, or something along those lines.

For those of you who have both, which do you prefer and why?

Also, if anybody has or can take any side by side comparison Pics, I'd love to see them! Thanks!!

I have both and I prefer the warden. the blades are really close to same size , the only reason I like the warden better is the handle is awesome! good ergo's and bigger.

Swamp warden. Eric only has a few left I think.

The squared off end of the scrapivore is just plain uncomfortable.

Thanks for everyone's replies so far. I saw that the color selection on the Warden's had dwindled from 3 to 1 (black only), so I went ahead and ordered one. Still may also get a Scrapivore, or maybe another Warden. I know I want more than 1 skeleton handled smaller Busse-Kin.

Please keep replies coming, and if anyone could post some pics, that would be awesome!!

+1 on this

I even wrapped Zach's latest orange Scrapivore in matching orange paracord last time I was down there and it didn't make much difference. Still very uncomfortable IN MY OPINION.

Swamp Warden for the win

I just got my third one and if the Busse crew does make it up here to Alaska I have asked for another.

They are great for piggybacking with a bigger Busse chopper as well as for neckers and less visible carry, while still being capable of some serious cutting.

The grind combined with excellent SR101 steel means they take a screaming sharp edge and cut like crazy.

YMMV

Swamp Warden for sure.

I begged for a Scrap Yard skeleton knife, but then it came out and it was the wrong steel, and the wrong shape.

Ah well.

Im a Busse addict, but in my opinion the ESEE Izula beats them both by a mile...

Better ergos, comes w a great sheath and is cheaper. Plus Rowan's 1095 steel is just as good as sr77 or 101 in a small blade... And for $15 more you can add factory micarta handles that make em even better.

I've owned a Vore, swamp warden, skeleton warden and game warden and my Izula was more enjoyable then them all.

And now bladehq has then in venom green :D

I agree with trail wolf. I own all as well and prefer the izula2. It has a slightly longr handle that adds greatly to commit, but takes away nothing in conceal ability.
Good luck.

I appreciate all the input guys, including the honesty about the Izula. I did order a Warden already, and may try the Izula as well. Just based on looks, I like the way the handle meets the blade on both the Izula and Scrapivore better than the Warden, but I can totally see how the Pry bar Pommel of the Vore would be uncomfy, so that was all it took to get me to pull the trigger on the Warden. Ultimately, I may wind up with all 3, cause like so many here, I'm an Addict :) I'd like to piggy back one each with 2 of my big choppers, then I'd also like to EDC one in pocket. For the latter, would 1095 steel be better since it has a reputation of being more corrosion resistant? How does the Izula coating stack up against the Swamp's?

I really liked the handle on the Warden but I LOVE the Vore LE's extra hardness.
I only have the CupidVore (gf's), Vore LE and Tan Izula now.
You really can't go wrong with any of the three.

The vore handle does bite,so I did this to my le...

Just took a little off the top, much more comfy now.
I also got a left hand cg so the beveled side rests against my palm vs the sharp flat side on the right handed.
I didn't want to grind the finish off the cg so I tried a lefty,it's a big difference in how they feel with the beveled side against your palm.

Either would pocket carry fine with the coating. 1095 and SR101 are pretty similar, corrosion-wise. IMO, the ESSS coatings are more resilient than the Bussekin coatings, but either will serve you fine.

I have the Vore and a Swamp Warden right now. I just sold my orange and traded my LE but the wife kept her Cupid. Wrapping the handles of the Vore helps some but not a lot. Now my SR Warden is wrapped and I love it. Saying this, I held a guys Izula with and without scales and have to say that was the most comfortable of the smaller blades I have held. I see a Rowen in the future.

i did the same thing but ground off less steel(maybe if i ground more off it would be even more comfy). it makes a big difference. i wasn't really digging the handle before i did this, i really like it now.

What is the green ESEE? I like that one and am going to try to get one when funds permit...
