*Toned down from rant to straight question*

- I like the Scrapper 4. I am interested in buying it.

Question one: Is it going to go away in a year like the old and much more attractive Swamp Rat line up?

Question two: Is there a sheath with it? Best I can tell none of the Busse/Swamp Rat/ Scrapper line come with sheaths. (WTF is wrong with you people?) IF there isn't a sheath, where, how much and which one is reccomended?

This is not the scrap yard forum. . .

Try here: http://www.scrapyardknives.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

Asking "WTF is wrong with you people" is a poor choice of words. If you are ignorant about something, why not try to find out about it instead of taking an insulting tone? FYI I have ordered all three of my Scrap Yard Knives with the optional sheaths, which are not fancy, but less than $20. I really prefer getting custom sheaths for my knives, however.

1. they are gone, you will have to buy from the secondary market.

2. like busse and swamprat, they will produce a knife or knives for a time then switch to new models.

3. most do not come with sheaths, but some have premade sheaths available at the stores, ie game warden, scrapper 6, m6.

4. wtf is wrong with YOU?

5. rat's right, this is the swamprat forum, not the scrapyard forum.

So. It's already gone, and it doesn't come with a sheath?

How do these companies stay in business?

Well if nothing else thanks for pointing out the correct forum.

They only barely do. Virtually no knives are sold. There is really nothing to see here.

Thanks for stopping by.

(I think he's gone, guys. Another new person was going to come in and buy some of the limited stock that we all fight like hogs, rats and dogs over. It's all good now. More for us. )

If I buy too many more Busse family knives, I'll have to ask myself WTF is wrong with me! :)

I agree!!

I guess you managed to miss the announcements that Jerry posted all over the place about the limited run of cheap INFI?

You are pissed that all the knives sold so fast, but you make a jab at them wondering how they stay in business?

Why not take your sour grapes and make some wine- Get drunk, and relax. :D

*unless you are already drunk, in which case you should make a fruit salad.

Rat I do so love butting heads with you. :)

What I'm pissed about skippy is that Busse and it's off spring are reputed to be the best of the best. So I finally decide to have a look see. Busse are priced well beyond my reach so Swamp Rat becomes an option. When I finally decide on a model I like I discover that all of the originals (which I liked) have been replaced with a completely new line up that I really don't like.
So now I hear about another bastard offspring of Busse, Scrapyard knives. Ever hopefull I check out their site. One knife. All I see is one stinking knife.
Oooh now we offer that knife with two finishes. Yay... I still don't like it.
Poof the scrapper 4. Now this I like. So I decide that yes this is the knife I'd like and today I find out it's no longer made. (in INFI) Then I find out it doesn't even come with a sheath. Guys .35cent tokoyo garbage knives have sheaths. A knife without a sheath is about as useless as a football bat.
So yeah Rat I'm a little upset. I'm trying to get myself a piece of the Busse spawn action here and I find it extremely difficult to be a customer. Next thing I'm going to find out is they don't accept credit cards or paypal, but some obscure hawiian island shell form of currency. :grumpy:

So that's my story and now I'm just trying to figure out where to go from here.

...(in INFI)...

So. . . buy the optional sheath? That is what I did. 35 cent garbage knives are garbage, and the sheaths are even worse, so I fail to see how that is relevant.

Stick around and pay attention to the announcements on the various forums.
You are pissed that SR changed the lineup, but you should be pissed at yourself for not getting the knives you wanted when they were still available.

The Scrapper4 will eventually be made available again in SR77 steel, which is not bad at all. The INFI version is gone for good, and only available on the aftermarket.

As always, with high-demand, limited production knives, you snooze, you lose.

Here is the sheath that came with my Scrapper4:
(you can see the one that came with the Scrapper6 underneath it)

My Scrapper 4 came with a sheath. Granted, it was made of cardboard and open at both ends, but still.

Hi Chambers,

Welcome to the wrong forum:) (I knew that you were going to post here today.)

It's always nice to hear that something must be wrong with my fellow forumites who are not bitter about being able to afford and or snag one of these great blades.

They only make so many Ferraris a year, yet somehow they manage to stay in business.

You are probably wondering how I knew you were going to post this here today. The truth is I am psychic:cool:
And since I knew that you were going to post this here today I bought TWO scrapper 4s. One for me and one just so you would not get one;)

Just kidding. Why don't you check out the scrapyardknives forum and see if you have any luck there. I'm sure if you are as nice as you have been here they will point you in the right direction.

Good Luck!!!
Aloha!!

Way too many sheath opions to please everbody, so Busse dosn't normally include a sheath. If you go to Busse Combat site, they have a great list of hide stitchers and Kydex benders.

For me I have a brother who does my leather work and I do some decent, not great kydex work. If I buy, I would get from www.armoralleather.com for leather and from www.buybrownholsters.com for kydex. Both are great people to deal with. I'm sure the others on the site are good too,but I haven't dealt with them (yet).

Good luck

Hey Rat, any chance you can post a pic of the back of that sheath from scrapyard? I assume its the one on the website without a picture. Thanks.

pete

So that's my story and now I'm just trying to figure out where to go from here.

The Frost Cutlery forum? :D

I think they really fit what you are looking for. Numerous models that are made by the millions, that come with a cheap sheath.

OT--

Excuse me, umm, I was wondering, does anyone here know where I can get a new '67 Ford Mustang. I went down to my local dealer and the guy in the showroom just looked at me kinda funny. Look, if it is cherry, I will gladly pay the $3k or so if you folks will take Paypal or a CC. I know that's what it cost new. Anybody? Please?
