I am on the list for a pair of Scrapper 5 LE's and was wondering how it will compare to the Busse Tankbuster. I don't own a Busse knife yet, and this one looks like a great blade. Trying to decide if it will do anything that the S5 won't?? Any reason to purchase when one already has 2 INFI S5's? (Other than the fact that I really want one).

I would yes, The Busse Tank Buster will be one heck of a great knife and you can order it to your liking. :D

If you are thinking about it just order one. :)

Yes the TB has a longer and thicker blade, better handles etc and it will be Busse INFI.

i was taking a long hard look at the scrapper le and then i just htought to myself y not just get another tank buster? i know im gonna end up with 2 of them a least probably get a third one that has a white blade and red handles. yummy.

busses just ooze awesome

In all reality, most of my stuff is light bush work and camping. Nothing earth shaking. Trying to feed a small stove in a tipi is the most demanding thing I use a blade for. Do most of the cutting with a silky saw (?) and split with the knife. Then all around camp chores. Nothing that will even remotely test either blade I would imagine.

"better handles" is subjective.

I far prefer the comfort of res-C handles for all but the most brutal abuse. The scrap yard mudder handles are crazy comfortable, and IMHO offer a much more secure grip than micarta or G10.

If you want a good slicer that's still a tough little knife, and is both lightweight and comfortable to use, stick to the scrapper 5.

If you want something to bust tanks with, to hammer through car doors and pry open manhole covers, get a tank buster. It looks to be a beast of a knife.

+1:thumbup: On the ResC. The grip design and material on my Scrapper 6 is one comfortable holderonto...:D And the SR-77 is some tough steel. I am not sure what the S5LE is made of? But I would not count out the Scrapyard knives for toughness. But if you don't have a Busse it's good to get that off your list of things to do.:D
