I had a bunch of scraps, orphans and oddballs laying about, so I cut them into squares, drilled a hole through them and epoxied them together. Then I assembled the whole mess onto an old shop knife (that had a duct tape handle, bent tip etc... it is a laminated stainless blade, or Helle similar brand, reprofiled a little bit)

Kinda different, what do you think?

I'd suggest oiling it like you did the dragon's breath one... it looks good as is, but I'd imagine much better with higher contrast.

Thanks guys. We were all encouraged as to how it came out. I'd have kept if I had not promised it to someone else.

L Bob; It polished up and looks real good in hand did not need the oiling. IMO. Too late, it is off to it's new home just now anyhow

Very Cool.

I've been saving my left over material just so I can do something similar. I can't stand wasting anything. I made a set of grips for a derringer from left over yellow paper micarta left over from a knife handle. Sold em for $30. The original piece of micarta only cost me $10.

I figure it ain't truly scrap until I toss it in the trash.

It's nice to see kinda what a handle might look like done with left overs.

It's hard to tell, are all the pieces synthetic material?

Thanks guys!

Dave, they are all composites I have made; there is paper, black and blue denim, flat and twisted canvas, fiberglass, carbon fiber, cotton, yarn, burlap and a couple of them glow in the dark...each bit is different.

Todd that is really cool!

Now all those colors kinda clash but for me the idea opens up more potential with your handle material.

My point is a well thought out stacked handle with complimentry colored laminates could be extra super cool.

My mind is racing with ideas.

Thanks

Thanks Will!

Yeah, I know it has some potential...especially after Del told me about the integral idea you guys discussed ;)

Very cool. It would make a nice material dealer sample for your products.
