So I loves my new 1311, it's a beast and a half. The only problem I have is after swinging it around and doing a little light yard work, the handle creates some hotspots on my hand. Aside from using gloves, what else could I do to alleviate this?

If the smooth handled Res C roughs up your hands, you might need to toughen those puppies up!

Extended chopping from my Res C on the B11 will give me irritation where the two traction marks are on that handle. At some point, I believe I will question the shop about replacing it with one of the newer, slightly bigger handles minus the traction grooves.

You can always get a set of work gloves.

You're using your 1311???? :eek::eek::confused::eek:

Just kiddin :D
Didn't have any issues with mine, as others suggested gloves or you need to work on some blisters and calluses... ;)

If the Res-C is causing irritation for you, you should probably stay away from ALL other handle materials!!! ;)

I have the same problem with Res C, it really hangs on to the skin and causes friction heat.

Its part my technique, I use the wrist snap with a loose grip on the last two fingers. The handle rotates in my hand a bit, and I would guess that yours is similar. For those needing a visual, go to a new car tire, press hard with your hand or forearm and rub the tire fast. It gets hot very quick.

I can chop quite a bit even with those godawful sharp older machined micarta scales and not get those sore spots I get from rubber handles very quickly.

If you use gloves all the time your skin will never toughen up.
No pain no gain:p
