Scrapyard 711 vs BK9 handle

About a year back, someone posted some great comparison pix of these 2 knives. My BK9 handle fits me well, just a tad big but no problem in use. I'm thinking of getting a 711 because the handle's shorter and it looks like it might be a little thinner than the BK9's, which could be perfect for me.

Would anyone who has these 2 knives please let me know how you think the handles compare? Do you have a preference and why? Not looking for opinions on a 9" vs a 7 3/8" blade, just the handles.

The handle material on the Scrapyard makes for better grip. I wrapped my BK9 handle in tennis racket tape.

thanks Muddy Pete. how much thinner you reckon that scrapyard handle is than the BK9? they feel about the same to you or the 711 seems a little smaller in some way?

To me the 711 feels slightly thinner because it doesnt have as large of a palm swell as the BK9 and for that reason I find the 711 more comfortable.

yea! that's the info i was looking for. PatrickKnight, is the 711 handle less "deep" - does it extend less far from your palm toward your fingers than the BK9? you think some of that res-C handle could be sanded away if needed? i have brute backwoods chopping aspirations for the 711 and like a machete i'm using all day i need a good comfortable grip on it. thank you
