I want a Busse but cant afford one now so I thought about a scrapyard. Did scrapyard somehow come from Busse. I am confused somebody straighten me out. How are scrapyard knives?

Sorry,
It is run by his brother. Dan Busse.
The knives are much less expensive. Designed to be users, etc. Usually with RES-C handles. The blades are SR-77, SR-101, or 154cm. A few are made of the Busse steel INFI. Suggest you find their forum.

I just picked up a scrapper 5 and can say its probably the best fixed blade purchase I've made yet. I would not trade this knife for anything but I would suggest you stay far away, the sickness has no cure and if you become infected your $crewed ;)

All the info above is correct. I'll add that Scrap Yard is considered the low end of the three (all relative of course, they're still better than any other production knife), Swamp Rat being the middle and Busse Combat being the top.
But they all come from the same family (same shop even I think?), with the same guarantee.

Even though they are kind of the "lower end" of the Busse family, they are still awesome, ive handled one in sr-101 and could cut paper with it...if you have the chance, get one:D Oh im not an expert but to my understanding sr-101 has better edge retention than sr-77

Not to detract from the original post, but how often do they put knives up for sale on the company store? Is there any order to it? Quarterly, yearly??

Scrapyard knives are really good knives for the money. Dan Busse (Jerry Busse's brother) put out some really nice knives for the price. They have a lifetime warrenty on them and they are some great hard use knives.

You have to check their website often, its really sparratic how often they put knives out. Im guessing there should be a new one coming out soon since the S5LE was their last knife out. They will announce it in their website, then open it for preorders for about 4-8 weeks, then start shipping soon after that.
