Scrapyard War Dog - reviews?

I've had my eye on the scrapyard war dog as a camp knife. At its price point it is not much more expensive (if at all) than other comparable knives. I searched for reviews and only found 1 brief review. I would think there would be more reviews. Why aren't there more in-use reviews of this knife? am I missing something?

Thanks.

Did you ask in the Busse forum? That would be the best place to get reviews and general thoughts.

Awesome all around bushknife...get it! I haven't used it with food prep yet, but I'm told it works well. Weighs next to nothing also...

And a few photos just because...

rpn, thanks for the reply. Any thoughts on blade thickness and handle ergonomics?

RevDevil, I was hoping general forum would provide more insight than a forum filled with fans. I honestly thought there would be a half dozen or more reviews by now, especially considering it was released in spring / summer. I feel like the lack of reviews might signify something I am overlooking. In a way, I was hoping to hear opinions as to why the knife isn't discussed more - as oppose to actual reviews.

I've found that the blade thickness isn't much of an issue due to the zero convex edge, I've used mine for a bit of food prep and it works well, the handle ergos ( for me at least) are excellent, I prefer this new handle style to the mudders of old, super light weight, near indestructible blade, super comfy in hand, can't ask for much more:D

As far as the lack of discussion, there is plenty over at the scrapyard forum, and this was a fairly limited release, only available for about a week

I almost passed on it from the thickness but am amazed how well it slices. I actually love how the thumb falls across the spine. I like the handle a lot. It's changing my grip with the narrower front but that's fine. At first the edges along the butt bothered me (kinda sharp) but I've worked with the knife more and it's not an issue. The balance is neutral and it's very lively in hand. What else??....it loves the strop! Sucker gets sharp easy!

I have a War Dog and really like it. It was only available for a week from Scrap Yard, a few weeks ago. It hasn't been around that long so maybe people haven't gotten around to reviewing it yet. Solid fixed blade, and it is very light. Its an alternative to a Fallkniven S1, or even my Bravo-1. I don't know much about INFI, but its been great so far, and from what I read pretty stain resistant.

The good thing about this knife is the size. You'll carry it more often than any other Busse product and have a slick INFI blade by your side. It is a 'practical' Bussekin blade because you will EDC the thing and not even notice it...the WD is ultra light and packs a good punch for the size. It is the one Bussekin that will be with me most days.

it's a very firm rubber, wasn't sure If I would like the handle until I used it. Had a tree come down and used it to clear all the smaller branches, works like a champ. now I just need to get used to sharpening a convex edge.

Thanks for the info! I am ordering one now before they are disc. again!

If you go out and feel the tire on your car that's about what the texture is like---this isn't kraton. Resiprine-C is a serious handle material that holds up and doesn't blister your hands like softer rubbers will.

Hi some updates.
1. stripping, very easy with paint remover gel
2.bare blade you can see some marks and rounded and darker blade spine (tempering process)
3.thinner mousepad convex=better cutter
4.DIY multiple position kydex in blue I wanted to make this package friendly to people ;-) they don´t know but this is "a wolf with sheep skin"

Great pics and sheath Faca. I need pants for mine and am jealous! It is a good little worker, no?

Why did you post in a Ward Dog thread though? ;)
