Hi folks-

This blade shape/style caught my eye. Can anyone tell me about how large the handle on this model is though? Is it comparable (larger/smaller/thinner/etc) than something common like a Fallkniven F1? I have particularly large/picky hands when it comes to bush knives unfortunately and didn't know if this was likely to be big enough.

Thanks for any help-

My YK handle is 4.5 inches long and just over an inch at the widest point. It doesn't have a great girth (not sure if that is the right word) and measures across the top of the handle at under 3/4 of an inch.

Really comfortable handles. This is one of my favorite blades.

So the handle is aprox. 4.5" and from what I've found, the Yardkeeper is larger than the F1.

Thanks guys! Very helpful. Versus the SAR5, do you know which would have larger/rounder handles?

I had a YardHook (same specs except for the hook), and that bad boy had FAT handles. The SAR5 looks more petite in the handles to me, but I've not held one.

The hook has a bigger handle the SAR5 has a rounder handle,,To me the SAR5 feels bigger I think because of its design,,where as the Hook handle conforms to your hand better giving you the impression it smaller,,I dont know how else to explain it,,hope my answer helps you.

Thanks again for the help guys! The pics are very helpful. Seems like the Yardkeeper is more for me.

ETA: What's the hook for specifically? If nothing else it looks like it would make a handy beer bottle opener.

I got 2 stories for the hook,,1st ,,its a blade catcher in hand to hand combat,,2nd ,,I heard durning WW1 the hook was used to cut barbed wire in the trenches. What is true im not sure but is a great question
