I was able to pick up an old PacificCutlery BaliSong Butterfly for a song LOL. Anyways I have had it in my collection for about 15 years now and would like to fix it up.The blade is a Weehawk type with false edge and the original owner sharpened the false edge by hand thus producing a boatload of scratches ove the finish of the blade really noticeable.I was wondering without power tools the best way for taking the scratches out by hand. Also on one side of the handle where the locking bar slides into is split is there anything that can be done about that also. The split side is the side without the locking bar attached. Thanks for any advice you guys can offer.

Get a small 1"x1" square x 6 " long or so scrap of wood.
Go get some SIC carbide sanding paper up to about 600 grit for a satin finish. Start with the paper around the wood and clamp the knife down saftly. Then sand the areas that are damaged moving from about a 300 grit up to the 600 grit until the scratches are all going one way . Stroke your paper in one direction to make a even looking finish with full strokes on the surface you want to clean up. Then when your happy with the finish take some flitz or semi chrome polish on a rag around the board and stroke it with the paper groooves like you did to sand it. This will give you a nice clean up..
