Scratches from Blade Guides

Anyone got any ideas on how to avoid scratching bead blasted blades when using either a Razor Edge or Lansky guide for sharpening?

Either tape the blade or the clamps, no more scratches. Scratches from he stones are something altogether different. Bill Boyd

I use blue painters tape (Wal-Mart) with my Edge Pro and have no scratches...can use on blade or blade table.
