Scratches used to bother the heck out of me. The first time I scratched my Spyderco CF Dragonfly, I was totally bummed (at the time, it was my nicest knife and the fact that I managed to get it for <$20 after rebate, discounts, and an extra rebate wasn't relevant). Went out and got some wet/dry sand paper in a variety of grits and, starting with 600 grit and finishing with 2000 grit, refinished the blade. A lot of work and ATS-55 is probably a lot easier to refinish than D2.
When I put the first big scratch in my DDR small Apogee, I momentarily thought about sending it off to Darrel to get it refinished. But then I came to my senses and realized that scratches are part of using a knife.
Last week I put some small scratches in the blade of my new TNT (less than a month old). Didn't even raise my pulse rate.
If you use a knife, it'll get scratched. Think of them as character marks.
