Scratches on G-10

I recently got my hands on a G-10 Spyderco Civilian, which was supposed to be in like-new condition. Unfortunately the front scale (the one without the clip) is really badly scratched. The scratches are so rough, big and deep that they are nearly white inside, which really stands out on the black handle. Is there any way to fix that discoloration? I suppose refinishing the entire scale would work, but the knife can't be taken apart, so I'll have to work around all the pins, which will be next to impossible. Will polishing up the scratches alone change the colour of G-10 back to black? Any ideas? :)

Here's something that might help cover up the scratches some.
Try wiping in some super glue. Just do it fast, don't use more than a drop or so, and wipe the excess off using something that won't leave any lint. Also, once you have it slick, don't touch it again till it's completely dry. If you touch it while it's tacky you'll really mess it up.
