I think I need to stop wiping my eyeglasses with my shirts. I took a close look at them earlier today and noticed that there are several tiny scratches on the lenses. Is there anyway to take out these hairline scratches without damaging the glasses?

Thanks

I'm sure any eye doctor or eyeglass store can polish those out for you. Look for a store that makes their glasses in-house so they won't have to be mailed off to a large factory where they'll likely never be seen again. I used to work at an eyeglass factory...

A while back I was grinding on a knife, making the handle slimmer. I didn't realise the shavings had gotten into my shirt I was wearing a fleece sweatshirt so the shavings got trapped on there. Anyway, I wiped my glasses off with my shirt and now my glasses have some pretty deep scratches in them. I was wondering if I could just get them off with sand paper and some buffing compound. With out hurting the glasses too much.

High quality glasses usually can't be polished as they have a protective coating or anti-glare coating on it. Any polishing might remove this coating.

If the scratches are not noticeable in your view then don't bother about it.
