Hello Guys,

I tried to open a can with my Camillus Pilot, and now it's full of scratches ..
Someone know if there is a paint o something like it to re-paint the knife or just to cover the scratches ???

anybody can tell how to remove these scratches??? I tried to use a car scratches remover but without success

The Pilot has a Black Phosphate coating on the blade, its not paint.

From the way it sounds, eventually you are going to put more scratches on it.

I just retired my Marine knife last year (it also has the Phosphate coating on it). I put it into service in 1984. I scratched it, hammered with it, and dug holes with it. Once I left it stuck in a tree for a few days and a chipmunk or mouse chewed a little off of the leather handle. To this day I have not hurt the function of the knife, its still a life taker and heart breaker.

A good knife and a good woman only get better with age.

So a few scratches; spray some Remington oil on it and use it some more.

You're probably stuck with the scratches especially if you went through the oxide finish and itno the metal. If you have to cover it up, I'd get a can of black spray paint.

If this is a pilot survival knife, I'd just leave it and start using it more. There are so many out there that it will probably never be worth more than you paid for it. If it saw action in Nam or something like that, it could be worth something to a collector but if you bought it at the local Army/Navy, I'd just use it.
