scratches on stainless handles

Any suggestions for dealing with scratches on stainless steel handles. I just got a Delica and an Endura with stainless handles.

Rob - 3M Scotch Brite pads. The kind you wash your dishes with. the final finish is put on with scotch brite belts. Rub back and forth lengthwise until scratches are gone.

I just purchased a stainless-handled calypso Jr for my wife, and got her intials engraved in it. Will the scotchbrite adversely effect the engraving?
