scratches on the blade

Id suggest either not worrying about it and use your knife. Second, if it bothers you, sell it and buy another and just keep it in a safe.

If you use a knife it will get scratched.

Im sure others will post how to remove them

If they are light surface scratches & not deep ones flitz metal polish will work at removing them. Like was said, you use the knife you are going to get scratches on the blade.

Scratches on your blade look cool . Then again, I was one of those kids who stepped all over his new shoes to make them look old and worn.:

Once i do anything to make a nice not knew its used hard. Keep the scratch and use the knife. I'm like that with bikes too. Keep it nice until you get a ding or something and then its game on from there.

Sometimes (unless it's a coated blade), a couple runs across a buffer with some green rouge and then a pink clean up rouge often helps....

The old fashion way is to go through the grits - sandpaper. If its deep you might have to go all the way to 220 and progress through the ranks up the grits. It will take about an hour and a half. As others have said, if its a user knife, you'll get another scratch sooner or later. Its one reason I try to avoid mirror finished blades. Those ones can't even be placed in their sheaths safely without getting some flaw in the finish. Its also a reason why I like carbon blades. The patina covers a lot of that up.

It really depends on how deep they are. Though I agree with those who’ve said that scratches add character.

So called "safe queens" or "investment-grade" knives are possibly never going to be used for anything except display, so on those scracthes could be a horrible PITA.

On user blades, what of it? Just take care of the knife, clean and sharpen regularly and it doesn't matter, it's a tool. There will be a reduction in resale value but ain't that the truth with everything now? :)

The best way to get over that scratch is to use it until there is a second one. 1 scratch on my knife kills me. 2 scratches makes it look a lot better. Like its actually used.

Hey guys, maybe it's a knife from a friend he would like to return in the same state.
Just want to say don't jump to conclusions.

Otherwise I would agree :D , the first scratch is killing you, the more there come the better it looks

I now see that all of you with much more experience than me tells me to not care about the scratches since it is a tool and I am using it for different everyday tasks. well thank you all I think that was all i needed to hear;)
