Screw Dimensions - Kizer Lan

Hoping to get some help. Was tinkering with my Kizer Lan - disassembly to install a different set of scales - and one of the T6 screws that secures the scales to the liner stripped. I got it out with an extractor with no damage to the barrel it screws into. Unfortunately, the screw is toast. Kizer is telling me it will cost $10USD to ship me (1) screw from their manufacturing facility in china. Hoping they will provide me with dimensions but wanted to ask here as well.

I would think I could source this domestically much cheaper so I ask this question: Does anyone know the dimensions of this screw, specifically if this is metric or imperial and if the thread is 2-56? (My guess is most mass produced knives from china would have metric hardware but I'm not sure.

Here are the dimensions I have just don't know the thread or if it's imperial or metric:

OAL-.225" or 5.83mm
Thread Length-.18" or 4.63mm
Thread Diameter-.094" or 2.4mm
Button Head Diameter-.160" or 4.06mm
Torx-T6

If you have any ideas where to source imperial or metric screws, that would be appreciated as well.

Thanks for the help.

I'll send pics of the knife with the new scales on once completed.

The thread diameter is not a normal size. It is probably a 2.5mm size. They measure a little less than nominal size. The fine thread for that diameter is 0.35mm DBT (Distance Between Threads). The coarse thread would be 0.45mm DBT. The later is 56.4 TPI which is very close to 56 TPI. I have few lying around but they are flat headed.View attachment 1591950View attachment 1591951

I've purchased mini metric screws from the following online vendors-

Knifekits.com
Metricscrews.us
McMaster-carr.com
Boltdepot.com

Knifekits, McMaster, and Boltdepot all have M2.5 torx button or pan head screws in various lengths.

Chances are wherever you buy from, between the cost of the screws and shipping, you're going to pay around $10.

Thanks for the info.

The manufacture replied with the following specs: ø4.2*M2.5*3.5

Can someone tell me what each of these numbers mean?

Appreciate the help.

I believe that an o with a line through it means diameter. Perhaps 4.2 means the diameter of the screw head is 4.2mm.

M2.5 is the diameter of the threaded portion. M stands for Metric, 2.5 means 2.5mm. Metric screws are typically identified By the M and then the diameter of the threaded portion.

I would have thought that the last numbers 3.5 would be the length of the threaded portion (3.5mm), but since you measured it at 4.63mm, I'm not sure.
