So I was feeling really blessed lately and wanted to do a giveaway. Since I couldn't sell this great user, I'm gonna give it away for free. Here's my pimped Boker Manaro Bullseye Grip, this is after they started case hardening the body hardware, it has a steel lockbar insert, and was pimped by me. Ground the jimping down to make it more comfortable, blade is used, sharpened on edge pro, smooth action with solid lockup, slight bit of horizontal play, flamed ti. I was debating about darkwashing or two tone acid etching the blade. If you want me to change the blade finish, edge angle, etc let me know!

So, to enter just post either a story of gratitude, addiction recovery, generosity, whatever is near and dear to you.

Will end contest next Sunday at 8 PM, ship out monday morning.

Ok quick little story. While i was a Marine deployed on my second combat tour to the middle of Haditha iraq. Our squad was deployed to the "bazaar" district to search for ieds. knowing this was a suicide mission we prepped and made ready to leave the base. Within a three kilometers we knew something was up as there were no locals to be seen. I radioed to my point men, Dominguez and Bravo the keeo their heads on a swivel and watch for trash piles. No more then 3 seconds later the whole world went dark. By the time the smoke cleared i could see both of my Marines on the ground, Bravo was motionless, Dominguez was trying to slide himself to the far side of the road. I radioed in and took off running, expecting to see my Marines and brothers dead and critically wounded. Dominguez' right leg was shattered from the blast, and he was screaming about getting blown up. I grabbed him and reminded him that he would be home in time to see his daughter be born. ( we were off by a few days) he came down and the shock seemed to leave. Once he was secure we went back to Bravo.... who had not been moving. As i approached i noticed a large wound in his neck. I did what i could to slow the bleeding and yelled for help to move him to cover. Bravo looks up at me and says "can you take a picture"?? He was really into photography.... like really.

The convoy arrived and took my boys out to get propper treatment. Dominguez arived back stateside a few days late but got to see his daughter much earlier then expected. He named her Kyra.... kinda close to me name.

Both made full recoveries but ended their time in the Corps.

I guess this is just one of my insperations in life. Brotherhood. Semper fi

When I think about stories about recovery I always think of my little brother. He died two and a half years ago, a month after my daughter was born. My brother didn't have an easy go of it at life, for more reasons than I care to talk about, but starting in his teenage years a big part of his struggles were related to substance abuse.

I spent years worrying that I would get a call telling me that my brother was dead. He kept making bad choices. He would go to rehab, and then go right back to his old behaviors.

Then, about three and a half years ago he started getting serious about his recovery. He got active in the recovery community, and he started getting active in his own life. He went back to school, and this time he was doing well. When I talked to him on the phone he voice was clear again, and I felt like I had my brother back. He stayed clean for the rest of his life.

About a year after he got serious about sobriety I got the call that he was dead. He had been in a car accident. He had given a friend a ride home, and then was driving himself home when he went off the road. It was just a bad accident.

I'll never stop missing my brother, but I am thankful that recovery gave me back my brother at least for a while. And I am thankful that he got to experience life going well for him before he passed.
