Screw/thread sizes for Ti-lite

Can anyone tell me the screw/thread sizes for the current 4" Ti-lite? I know that the pivot screw is 6-32, but I can't tell what sizes the stop-pin and other handle screws are.

I might want to make some custom handle scales that would require longer screws.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I just pulled the pivot and one of the frame screws on my 6" aluminum Ti-Lite, measured them on my knifekits.com screw gauge, and they are as follows: Pivot=M4-.7, Frame=M2.5-.45 so 4mm x .7 and 2.5mm x .45 respectively. I'd guess they're the same on all Ti-Lites.

edit: the pivot screw looks close to a 6-32, but it doesn't fit that size on my imperial screw gauge. It's definitely M4. The Voyagers and a couple others use this same size, so I think it's a CS standard.

edit part deux: knifekits has M2.5's in both black and stainless up to 5.8mm (.230") long. Longer than that, and you'll have to hunt around a bit.

Thanks much G. Scott H, that helps a lot.

And another thanks for the correction on the pivot.

I should get myself a "micro" screw gauge. The screw gauges I have don't go that small.

As for a screw supplier, I generally buy from McMasterCarr, except when I can find what I need for less $ in smaller quantities. (If you're familiar with McMaster, screws are often sold in packs of 50, 100, etc). But I'm so close to the McMaster warehouse that I get next day delivery, and I order other stuff from them all the time anyway, so I generally go with them.

Thanks again .

Hey G. Scott, I noticed that on my knife the screw at the butt end of the handle is a larger diameter than the other handle/stop-pin screws. Could you possibly check on that for me?

No prob. Glad to help.

I bought the metal screw gauges from knifekits a couple years ago in both metric and imperial. They've saved me several times and more than paid for themselves.

And no, I don't work for knifekits, lol, but these gauges are such great tools that I like to hype them whenever the chance arises. :D:thumbup:

edit: Not sure about the butt-end screw. I'll check it and report back.

edit 2: All 3 frame screws measure out the same size (there are 3 frame screws on the 6" vs. 4 on the 4", as the stop pin on the 6" doesn't use a screw). I can't swear that the 4" screws are all identical, but I'd be surprised if they weren't.

Thanks for checking.

Yep, the handle screws are different on the 4". And the 4" has a screw in the stop-pin. That's how it is on mine anyway (just received it new yesterday from Amazon, so I'm confidant that nobody messed with it).

You've pointed me in the right direction, and you likely saved me from buggering my pivot with the wrong screw (my dad always said "Measure now and you won't cry later"), so thanks aplenty from me. I'm going to get me one of those micro screw gauges.

And btw, I'm a big fan of Knifekits. Been buying from them (and recommending then to others) for several years.

Cheers.
