Screwdrivers on Multitools

Don't you think that Multitools fall short on the screwdriver department? Most tools offer very limited selection of screws, usually 3 or 4 slotted and phillips. Some might be OK with this. But if we want the ultimate tool they should support these bits.

Not only that, they should make sure the small ones should fit the recessed holes where these screws are screwed in. 1/4 hex's aren't good enough because they're too big to fit these holes.

My dream multitool would combine the 4 mm driver in the cybertool

and 1/4 hex driver in the sog powerlock.

I rarely have need for anything other than a basic slotted and basic phillips screwdriver. When I first got into multi's, I went out and bought all the adapters and various bits. I found little need for all the extras and gave them up in short order.

If I were to continually need to repair something with security screws, or whatever, I'd carry those bits. It's only my own opinion of course;)

I have to agree with Matches on this one. I carry both a SAK and a multi-tool on a daily basis and use them both at work right alongside my "real" tools. Usually I go to the multi-tool for convenience and sometimes necessity if my other tools are unavailable. I personally only come across speciality screws while working on particuliar pieces of equipment (only at work), and we carry a special security multi-bit screwdriver tool just for such an occasion. I've come to learn that multi-tools are great for general use and all, but there are definately times when a trip to the work truck to get the toolbox is required.

I too find the basic size and type commonly provided on the multis serve me just fine. I do have one complaint though. On many SAKs the screwdriver is too polished and too beveled. A little more edge would provide a sharper "bite" IMO.
