so was visiting the bcci site store and saw they have 2 versions of 110s with aluminum frames and screwed together setup. so i had to grab one as i always wanted a screwed version 110....but thinking will it allow for removing play.....not sure......have to look over the construction to see if it will have any bearing on side to side? also has buck ever made a screwed rather than pinned 110 before these versions? thanks in advance.....

Aluminum frame and screwed together construction? Where can I get my hands on one?

Does it look like it would allow tightening as the blade & pivot wear? DM
dont know Sir. have to look at it up close and see how its put together. the frame setup may not allow any real tightening. being rigid and inflexible. should be interesting when i get mine.....

D DocT its a bcci membership line. i assume sold to help support the club and its costs. if youre a member you can buy them while they are still available.

Thanks, jbm. What's on the other side handle? It doesn't show that side in the BCCI site. Just blank? DM

Only the Titanium 110 variant called the 186.

Didn't Buck drop the 186 because "people" took them apart and could not get them put together again?
Seems to me I read that in a thread here a year or three ago.

Personally, I suspect the 186 was dropped because of the wear and tear on the machinery from milling the titanium.

Mak is capable but may have shut down for the night.

The reason that people couldn’t get the 186 back together again was the fact that the rocker pivot screw was shrouded by the tip of the belt clip. Here is how to get around the problem.View attachment 876257 View attachment 876258

My guess is that the side plates are separated by the blade pivot bushing. No amount of tightening of the blade pivot screw will effect the spacing between the plates. The side to side play is determined by the length of pivot bushing relative to the thickness of the blade. You want the bushing to be a few thousands of an inch longer than the blade is thick.
The up and down play is determined by the intimacy of the fit between the tooth on the rocker and the notch in the blade. The picture is of a Selector set up, but you can see how the bushing separates the handles, and the tooth on the rocker locks the blade.

Yes, you are correct Buck did drop the take apart 186 due to customer issues. Then introduced the 560 non-take apart Titanium 110 variant. Buck did not make the Titanium parts those were contracted out. The 560 was ended when the suppliers factory burned down and the Titanium parts were no longer available.
