Screws always coming loose.

The one by the lanyard hole always works itself loose. It's starting to frustrate me now. 20-30 openings and I'm having to tighten it down.

Also, I notice that when I tighten the pivot screw it increases the tension of the blade opening. I thought bushings were supposed to eliminate this problem. Taken apart and put it together several times and to no avail. No crimped washers.

I haven't had any of these problem on my small.

Any tips? or is this a send in to CRK kind of problem.

after taking it apart, clean the threads on the bolts, then as you reassemble tighten the bolts down evenly...as in 40% then another 40 then the last 20.

Here's something else you can try, works with glasses and sunglasses. Put a little nailpolish, (got a wife, sister or girlfriend?), around the top of the thread before you screw it back in. Works a little like loctite but nowhere near as strong so you can undo it if you need to.

BOK,

Doesn't sound like the screw or thread is up to CRK standards. Maybe a call the the shop would be in order. If the Sebbie is relatively new, they may want to see it and fix the problem.

I had a problem with the pivot screw loosening and using advice I got here I put a small amount of teflon tape around the screw and tightened it in and it has stayed tight since. The nice thing about using this method is that it doesn't bugger up your screw at all.

I'm starting to think a visit to CRK would be best. I'll call first though if I send it.

The knife is brand new from the factory. In fact, I was told it was one of the first annual '04 wood in-laids to leave CRK this year.

My small regular did not suffer the same afflictions.
