Sal, Carlos, others in the know,

What size screws are used on the pocket clip of the ATR? I had to destroy them to remove them (the epoxy fairy left something in the threads they used as pillows. :grumpy: ) and want to replace them with the right-sized screws.

Many thanks,

Thom Brogan

You should contact Warantee and Repair. Alternatively, SFO should be able to get you replacement screws.

Mike, at warranty and repairs, was able to track down some screws and informed me that the red adhesive I found is permanent Loc-Tite. Thanks for the suggestion, Carlos.

If that was Red Loc-Tite in those threads I suprised you were able to get those screws out at all!

I use that stuff to install front sights on firearms because of it's never budging forever keeping it there propeties.

Big Bad Wolf,

Once you've stripped the screws with a conventional driver and barely move one of the three, then have the battery on your long-neglected Dremel sputter out on you, and you heed U812's advice to use the needle-nose thingies, it's surprizing how much torque you can generate. Especially if it's a special-occasion present folder you got yourself after cancelling a custom order and harboring that bad-customer guilt. :o

Luckily, Mike from customer service was also upset that I found red Loctite in the threads and is sending me two sets of replacements. One for the knife and the other so I can go ----- myself after sending many emails and calling, I guess.

That red lock tight is a *itch. It is on the screws that is in the backspacer of the Military,if you ever want to take it out the best way with out striping the screws is to get the right size torx aply strong downward presure and turn the bit with a wrench in the tighening direction first, this will brake the locktight loose a little and then remove the screw.
