Hello,

I have read about the torque drivers used to tighten the screws in the Emerson Knives. I like to do "things right" ;) Anybody know the current torque used in the CQC 7B Screws? Just in case I have to take it apart for cleaning. I guess the pivot screw get hand tightening to keep it perfectly balanced in bladeplay, etc..

Regards

Interesting that there isn't an answer. I would like to know the answer also but then when a screw strips (and you can bet 'eventually' it will happen) I wonder what the response would be.

I just tighten them barely enough to the point they stop turning. Dont wanna over do it and it has always worked for me. I've owned 5 Emersons (currently have 2) and that has always worked for me.

Hand tight should be about right.

Our torque drivers are micro-adjustable and are not set high enough to force a cross threaded screw into a threaded hole

Why not call the company @ 310 539-5633, and speak with one of the people who answer the phone. They may share the information with you 1, 2, 3.

I am one of the lucky ones too. Knock on wood. I have never stripped a screw on a folder. I can see it happening for the first time on an Emerson. Ha!
