I hear people saying that the black finish on their screws wears off pretty easy. Has anybody had their screws bead blasted? I had CRK do this to the screws on my Sebenza and it looks great. I can email pictures of them to anybody that's interested.

Also, can you order satin finish screws from Emerson?

lo i just got my 2002 commander this past sunday from
a gun and knife show i whent to the black on the screws
is starting to wear away on mine already as well but
thats ok i think it would look cool with silver screws
my commander is black handled with a silver mat chisel
ground blade i traded one of my microtechs for it

what i want to ask is what would be a good home remedy
for taking the black off these screws ?

ive always been a microtech man and they make em out
west of town where i live at but from now on i think
the commander will be my edc

I haven't rec'd my 2002 Commander yet. However, I'm guessing you could remove the black from the screws by simple friction. You could remove the screws, then use some very fine grit sandpaper/emery cloth on them. The optimum, IMO, is to get them bead blasted. The screws on my Sebenza look great.

Personally, I don't mind screws showing wear. The 2002 Commander I'm getting from TAD will have a black blade. If I cared all that much about wear marks, I would have got the hard chrome. The BT2 finished blade on my old BM Styker has a lot of wear/character. So do I. :)

The finish on the screws and the pivot does wear off.

I have one 98 Commander that has bead blasted screw and pivot and I've had one that all the hardware was polished. Both worked great.
