Screwy screw size

I'm going Amazon on some bulk SS hardware for my BK-deuce, fife, and niner. I'm trying to peel back the inner tube and twist the hex key and catch the nut AND surf the web all at the same time. This causes a short circuit in my poor old gray matter. I can't remember which pitch. Then I vaguely remember the Becker thread is listed in the Beckerhead threads.

Short story long, I see #10-24 listed on the monitor at the same time the screw falls into my hand, but the one in my hand is clearly a #10-32.

All three of my Beckers were supplied with #10-32 SHCSs. Either mine are different or the info here is wrong. Now it doesn't really matter as long as your screw and nut are the same pitch. Both fine and coarse #10's have the same major diameter, same head diameter, same hex key, same nut size, etc. But for the sake of being pointlessly tedious, I thought I'd mention this discrepancy to Thou Powers That Be.

And don't get me started on the screwy sizes for bike inner tubes
Mine are all 10- 32 x 5/8 NF (national fine) doesn't really matter as long as the nut and screws are the same. That's 2 KA BARS and 1 Camillus.

might have to get ol'Toooj in here to spell us up...

but i'm going to guess they sourced a bulk load of whatever they could get their hands on, and they're using it. or they made a mistake :) happens. could be the NEW thing. the information in the FAQ WAS accurate for all prior generations, as far as we know.

as long as a give knife's screws are consistent, taking it apart, cleaning/etc is fine. if you lose a nut or screw, a bit more of a pain. if you are ordering a bulk set of stainless, as long as the lengths and diameters are correct, you can get metric/sae, any thread pitch, torx, whatever :)

me? i'd prefer they just go stainless out of the box, and metric too. nice touch. i'd pay a $1 more too ;) bonus: toss in a hex key and a dab of loctite with a note.

I bought stainless slotted screws for my 2, 7, and 9. I bought #10-24 screws and they fit and work perfectly. As long as the nut and screw match, it doesn't matter I think.

Only problem I ran into was that my hardware store didn't stock the 5/8 screws; I had to buy 3/4 and cut them down with an angle grinder. It looks like the 5/8 size is a little unusual and some stores don't normally carry it. Shouldn't matter if you order online.
