I got this scrimshaw sc507 on trade and it came with the blue great american outdoors box, so this leaves me 2 questions this scrim really has nothing to do with the great outdoors so is this the box it would of come in? and one thread you guys were talking about the artists and I cant find any initials on this one anyone know who would of drawn this? I had never seen one like this before so I thought it was neat.

Outdoors? No idea. But this is a great looking knife, would look good in any collection. Especially mine. :)

The box? I have no idea. The standard Scrimshaw of The Great American Outdoors box was used for a lot of non-outdoors series scrims. This is a rather obscure set (to me) and is likely an SFO for a tool company or...Texaco. See the star on the gas pump? It appears like this in all three artworks I have seen. Three different scenes like this featuring a mechanic in an old time service station (remember those?). The other two in the series are clearly signed by Frank Giorgianni. He usually signed his art, but not always. Mr. G. retired in 1992, so these three knives (at least the first two signed ones) were done prior to that. I've not yet seen them in a three piece gift box, almost always as loose knives, not boxed with papers. Perhaps they were produced in consecutive years. Sorry I can't help more. Perhaps someone else has something more specific on this "Oil & Lube" series (my 'working title' for them).

Don`t know if it is part of The Great Outdoors series, but it`s a nice one!

DO you guys think that is initials or something? I will look at it a little closer and see if I can tell.
