I came across one of these at an out of the way antique shop. NIB with a deer on it. Asking price was $65, and I was wondering if that was a good price. Any help would be appreciated.

That`s why I always check here unless it is obviously what I think is a good deal. (Like the two Frontiersman series folders I got NIB a while back for $35 for both - at an antique store)
Thanks for the quick reply

If it is mint NIB and complete, these are uncommon with no spotting, especially along the spine where curious owners touch them over the years, and no blade scratching, with full etch. Please note that I said uncommon, not rare. This scrim pattern was introduced in 1993 on the 502SC (Sharpfinger), a reissue of the buck scrim used on the 501SC (drop point hunter) in 1979. I could be wrong about the dates, but these are according to Levine's guide. The price they are asking may seem high, depending on actual condition, but it is not too far off the current retail value. I would be tempted to make an offer somewhat under their asking price, and (according to an old southern joke) if the lady is willing, be prepared to dicker.

Unless you find something especially appealing about the deer scrim, you can buy an unscrimmed 502Sc for $30 or the original 152OT for $35.

See #6589004713 for one with a buggered sheath, and #6576988299 and #6563685698 from a different seller with free shipping.

No boxes or paperwork on the above knives. The price and value may depend on whether you want to use them or collect them.

It`s been sitting there for a while, so maybe I will make a lower offer. It sure can`t hurt to ask. I already have 5 of the standard Sharpfingers, and have not paid more than $18 for any of them.
Thanks for the replies
