Scrimshaw

Do you think that scrimshaw adds to a knife handle or is it more of a limiting factor-e.g. narrowing the market for a sale or limiting resale? I know the skill of the scrimshander and the subject matter of the art are huge variables, but in general what do you guys think?

I agree with Winn's comments above and would add that it's probably best utilized on non-users as durability can be a problem.
