Here's my sheath for the Sus Scrofa.

Interesting blade shape made for an interesting sheath. It works well !

Made from 1/8th" thick kydex. You can take out the screws to clean the interior.

Note the thumb push-off, allowing a smooth release.

This one shows the adjustable tension screw, as well as the highly polished edges.

Please note that if you're interested in one of these, I have about one week left to go on previous sheath orders. (if you haven't received yours yet, it's a'comin' !)

It's as streamlined as the blade shape allows.

It withdraws easily and snaps right in.

I like it Dave, it looks real compact. Does it make contact with the blade at all during withdrawl?

No. I make my sheaths to NOT pinch the blade for retention. I engage the handle and then put in the tension screw so YOU can decide how much effort it takes to release the knife. :D

I think he was asking more or less if the blade edge itself makes contact when being drawn. (If I'm wrong I apologize, in which case I'd still like to know  ) Due to the curve of the blade, I can see where the tip might drag against the inside of the sheath when being pulled out. I was trying to figure out a way to add something to the blade to make it appear like a straight edge when molding the kydex. Kinda like a wharncliff shape, so you don't have to worry about clearing the hump with the tip so to speak. Looks like you pretty much got it covered.

Hopefully that makes sense. :D

It was a mix of both those but thanks MD13 for helping clarify what I was talking about. Its nice though that it engages the handle and not the blade.

I thought about putting in a filler to do what you're talking about, but I thought that might create more problems than it solved.

As I made this one, the tip does NOT catch 1/2 way up. That was the hardest thing to do about this sheath, but it works pretty well.

Cool, thanks for the info Dave.

Where I wrote "as I made this one" it would be clearer if I'd said, "The WAY I made this one"

Sorry for any confusion !
