Guys, just wanted to know if a scroll saw is any good for cutting kydex? I know a band saw will work better, but it will take a lot of space in my shed :-(
....Will be using it to make kydex sheath

That is what I use and it works very well. Just make sure you keep the sheet pressed down on the table as it can flex up and vibrate. Not dangerous, just inefficient.

I also use my scroll saw to cut off excess handle scale material (profile) to reduce the amount of grinding i need to do. I don't know if i would buy one for this purpose, but i already had a scroll saw. FYI, I also have a portaband in a stand and still use the scroll saw as described above.

Ha! I bought one for that purpose exactly. Trimming scales and cutting wood templates.

It will cut it just fine, but it's a lot easier to just cut with a utility knife. Then you could use the saw to cut off excess

If I'm just making straight cuts, I will score it with a utility knife, and that's what i'd do if i didn't have a scroll saw. Since the OP already has a scroll saw, he can go that route.
