scuff marks

I have been hearing different opinions on kydex. Some say that kydex does not scuff a blade. I have been checking out fixed blade and the exchange forums and have noticed that some of the blades that are listed note that there are some light scuff marks form kydex sheaths on the blade. Could someone please put more clarity on this issue or give me your opinions.
Thanks

All sheaths scuff blades when dirt and sand enter the sheath regardless of material used for the sheath.

Kydex is worse than other materials however because it is a hard surface material and the dirt will sit on the interior surface and readily scratch blades.

Leather or fabric sheaths will hide some dirt in the porous material and will scratch less.

If you clean your Kydex sheaths you should limit the amount of scratching and scuffing. This is why I have all my Kydex sheaths made with a drain hole.

I do realize any foreign material such as sand or small stones that can work its way into any sheath will scuff a blade. But I've noticed with kydex when you sheath the blade sometimes the tip happens to catch the kydex and cut a line into the material with a raised sharp edge and everytime the blade is sheathed you run the risk of scuffing the blade. Has anyone experienced this happening?

Kydex is much softer than steel so it cannot mark it. Do a quick test to prove it (I did), clean an area of kydex and then rub it on a steel surface- nothing. It is the foreign material on the sheath that does ALL of the damage. Unless the scuffing is kydex rubbing off onto the blade, which IMO can happen with rougher blade finishes (rough sanding or bead blast).
