Sculpting the G10 on a Sanrenmu

Cheap $13 Sanrenmu from Ebay + about 20 minutes with a dremel. The original knife had polished G10 scales, but they were barely contoured and were basically black. This is what was hiding underneath.

Was that effect unexpected? Did you know there was blue there? Its nice!

I thought there would maybe me 3-4 layers total, had no idea there would be so much contrast or so many individual layers. Too bad, they could charge a lot more for this if they did just 5 minutes more work (I figure if it took me 20 to think about it, design it, and mill it, a line worker with an array of spinning drum sanders and a design template could knock these out all day long.)
