Anybody buy from ebay seller "sdcwoodworking"? Does their stabilization look OK, as in, not glistening? I don't mind if it glistens at first, but I think it should lose the glisten after you sand through the outer layer.

They claim "These are Professionally Stabilized by the leader in wood stabilization.

Contact them and ask who that is.

If it's WSSI or K&G I'd give them a try.

Thanks for showing me another Canadian wood supplier.

I as just browsing their eBay store the other day. They have some really nice stuff. Didn't realize they were Canadian tho. Might just have to try some.

I have purchased from them several time and they have a very good product, The stabilization is very good and the colors are good as well, seems to be a very clear resin. Their shipping is fast and the product has always matched the picture. The are one of my preffered providers. Sanding is very good, I use standard wood sand paper and there is no glisten, then I polish on a buffer. I have purchase the stabilized red and black palm, and several of the burls with very good results.

The glistening is likely water they spray on to better show the colors and figure.

I have used them, and have not hadany issues....Actually got some really nice stuff from them.

+1 I've used scales from them a number of times in the past. They are one of the only eBay sellers that I would not hesitate to buy from again. They seem to be using a quality stabilization process.

Note: If you'd like to see some examples of sdc scales on knives, check out the link to my flickr page below. Many of my early knives (#3-6 and #11) used their scales.

You do very nice work. I particularly like #3 and #10, even though they are very different from each other.

Do you design them yourself?

What is the handle material on #5? It is stunning.

I to have used them and will again, in fact I have at least 2 knives in the que that I will use SDC wood for.
Their stabilization seems to be similar to K&G rather than WSSI.
Del

In addition they are the only ones I will buy stabilized wood from on ebay, I am quite leary of all the others.

For best treating, I use Gallery Hardwoods in Eugene, Or and K&G in Arizona. Their processes are superior to WSSI.
