After a week of debating, and surfing the net looking at Spydercos, I was just about to turn in for the night when I came across this new thread.
Geez Louise! You guys read my mind.
In spite of all of Spyderco's newer models, all of them equally awesome, I just feel compelled to have a Police model. I don't know why since I have enough long bladed folders.
Double telepathy, but you "David Blained" me again as I am breaking tradition of plain edged knives and wanna go with a fully serrated Spyderedge. Yes, it looks too cool with the Police. I just had to reinforce my decision by re-reading an old Sal Glesser article that supported the notion of serrated blades. I also went to Cold Steel to read Lynn Thompson's hanging manila rope test with a serrated edged blade (although I prefer the Spyderedge serrations over Cold Steel).
Woo hoo! My first knife purchase in over a year and a half!
The only dif is that I wanted the stainless steel handle because it reaks of cool; albeit not as practical as G-10.
So you guys convinced me so I just ordered the stainless handled VG-10 (over the ATS-55 version) fully serrated Police model on-line. Not bad, it cost $83.75. They have other Spydies at good prices too like a Military for $93.75, and Guntings at $96.75. Out of respect for the Bladeforums store, I won't broadcast the website however.
...Now I'm going to sleep and dream of getting that knife soon!
