Okay so who has one of these bad boys? I have the PE version but I'm now highly interested in the SE version. Some don't like serrations but I think on the Police model they look awesome. Not only for looks but Spyderco serrations are known to be some of or if not the best out there.

Hi BOK,

I have one, and I love it! I agree that the serrated edge on this model looks very good. And man, does it cut.

I'm in the reverse situation. I own a serrated model and want a plain edge now too.

After a week of debating, and surfing the net looking at Spydercos, I was just about to turn in for the night when I came across this new thread.

Geez Louise! You guys read my mind.

In spite of all of Spyderco's newer models, all of them equally awesome, I just feel compelled to have a Police model. I don't know why since I have enough long bladed folders.

Double telepathy, but you "David Blained" me again as I am breaking tradition of plain edged knives and wanna go with a fully serrated Spyderedge. Yes, it looks too cool with the Police. I just had to reinforce my decision by re-reading an old Sal Glesser article that supported the notion of serrated blades. I also went to Cold Steel to read Lynn Thompson's hanging manila rope test with a serrated edged blade (although I prefer the Spyderedge serrations over Cold Steel).

Woo hoo! My first knife purchase in over a year and a half!

The only dif is that I wanted the stainless steel handle because it reaks of cool; albeit not as practical as G-10.

So you guys convinced me so I just ordered the stainless handled VG-10 (over the ATS-55 version) fully serrated Police model on-line. Not bad, it cost $83.75. They have other Spydies at good prices too like a Military for $93.75, and Guntings at $96.75. Out of respect for the Bladeforums store, I won't broadcast the website however.

...Now I'm going to sleep and dream of getting that knife soon! :)

Nice!!! I love that version too. One of the first knives that I really liked when I first started out.

Right now though I only have eyes for the G10 SE.

I got an old g-10 police with the swedge at the top of it. I loved the SE edge police so much, I went and bought a ss police in SE as well. Its all about the nice grind lines on the police.

The stainless steel handled Police with SE looks like a vicious barracuda. Gotta love it!

No wonder this make/model has been going strong for so many years. Classic.
