Seahorse Whittler?

I really like this style and was wondering if any companies offer it with a carbon steel blade, or if case was my best bet with their Tru Sharp?

Thanks in advance,

Chuck

There are some Bulldog versions in carbon steel, and I think the Case Classics are in carbon. The Seahorse has good proportions. It is a shame they don't do it in CV!! Case and Seahorse collectors have been bugging Case to do it for years.

Chucksw40 - if you buy a carbon steel version from Bulldog, my advice is make sure you get it from a dealer that won't have an issue with a return. See link:

A forum member here was kind enough to send me a Case blue-bone Seahorse, and so far the Tru-Sharp steel is holding up pretty well. I'd go with that for now, and hopefully Case will bring it out in CV soon.

thx - cpr

It won't be coming out in CV. Case says, and Mr. Bose confirms, that Case cannot obtain CV steel thick enough for the Seahorse blade.

Some of those Bulldogs are pretty funny, with the blade graphics (I hesitate to use the term "etching"). I'm thinking of "The Temptress", I believe...

I really do like this pattern, though.

Fellows & Gals,

These are really GREAT pocket knives!

I can attest that I have used more than a few of the Case Seahorse's in Tru-Sharp and it has served me quite well. I have had more than several over the years, and as luck would have it I got a fresh one in trade from a fine member here in this forum quite recently, the Family Brands CCC in IMO gorgoes Green Olive bone..

I also got another in trade a while back from another fine forum member that I will not use.. This one is a favorite in Autum Bone..

Wow sunnyd - those pics are soooo much better than the other dude that posted them.... :):)

I am also a huge fan of the Seahorse Whittler and the SS has treated me well. I recently got my first Case CV and am very happy with it so I'd like to eventually find a Seahorse in CV, but the SS is working perfectly for me now.

Oh boy, that's a beauty. I just received an Al Mar Nomad, and I think I know what my next knife will be. Those pictures are great.

Thanks for the kind words about the photographs guys. Much obliged.

I really do appreciate this pattern. Great user to be sure.

Best,

Anthony
