Okay, I posted this question several months back and nobody had really had a chance to handle one yet. However, I know several stores have these in stock now and I was wondering if anyone has used them yet. What are your thoughts one getting one to use as an all round camp knife to be subjected to basic cutting, whittling, and very light chopping duties, as well as possibly used to cut notches for lashings, since this version comes with the rasp/file back.

Thanks for any information you may be able to provide

I would definitely recommend the SEAL Pup Elite. Although I am a little biased I think it would be a great knife and do exactly what you need.

I have used a little around the office and at shows but no actual field work yet. I am heading out to Colorado in a couple weeks and may take one with me. If I do I will let you know what I think after using the knife for a week of camping chores.

Ok Now waiting with baited breath. I just sent an M.O. out to New Graham for one of these babies, can't wait to receive it, and put it through its paces. I think this is the worst part.

Congrats on the new knife purchase. Hope it makes it your way soon. I'd love to try out the knife, but need more camping gear so it will just have to wait. ;)

Wildmanh, I hear ya' I really need to pick up a larger pack and a new sleeping bag at some point, but I'm a knife knut first last and always. My current gear still works so I figured I'll get the knife now and the other stuff in a month or two.
